Also, four bases of transcendental powers. Four elements or attributes conducive to obtaining transcendental powers. They are zeal, exertion, memory, and meditative insight. The Sanskrit riddhi-pada indicates a step toward attaining transcendental powers; riddhi means wealth, prosperity, or transcendental or supernatural power; pada means foot, root, or base. The four steps to transcendental powers are the third of the seven constituent groups of the thirty-seven aids to the way, or the thirty-seven practices leading to enlightenment.
